After 30 cases of coronavirus where reported in a yet-to-be named firm in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital, it has been reported that eight workers has tested positive for the pandemic in the company.
This bringing the total number of the COVID-19 to 38 in the said company. The Governor of Oyo State and the Chairman of COVID-19 task force, Seyi Makinde, disclosed this on tweet yesterday.
Makinde said: that the COVID-19 confirmation test result of 11 suspected cases came back positive. Eight of this cases came from the same organisation in Ibadan South West Local Council was disclosed in the update on May 16, 2020. One case is from Oluyole Local Council.
The governor, while breaking the news of 30 positive cases, assured the residents of Oyo State to be calm adequate measures were being taken to ensure public safety.
Meanwhile Makinde, said the company which the 38 cases of the coronavirus in Ibadan South West Local Council would be revealed today.
On management on the COVID-19 cases, we will continue to allow all confirmed COVID-19 patients who could self-isolate themselves at home to please continue so not to overwhelm the capacity of the isolation centers. This is also to ensure that the isolation center is available for those who need hositalization.
