Today's news has it that due to Nigeria's effort to fight COVID-19 pandemic the Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) offered all its 425 health facilities across the country as isolation centres for COVID-19 patients.
It was made known yesterday being monday at daily Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha.
The federal government been known earlier there are unavailabilty of aequate bed space for COVID-19 patients in the country.
On monday night, Nigeria has recorded 641 cases of coronavirus. It includes 902 who has recovered and has been discharged as well as 150 deaths.
The government said with the increasing number of the virus it is considering home treatment for people as some states are running low on bed spaces.
Also on same monday Mr Mustapha, however said that the state government can now take advantage of the donated facilities to treat there patients.
As the part of effort tosupport the state in the establishment of the isolation and treatment center, I wish to remind the governors of the 425 hospitals the Catholic Bishops Conference volunteerely donated as adpotion as isolation centers.
"Governors are adviced to apporach the Catholic Bishops in their states to acces tis facilities," he said.
