Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)

Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a score-based system that Express Entry uses to award scores to applicants; who wish to immigrate to Canada to work. The scoring system considers much information about the applicants, based on the aspiring immigrant’s information; it will determine the score that will be awarded to the immigrant.

Some of the information required by the Express Entry System while scoring the applicants using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is;

  • Age: The age of an applicant helps in the applicants’ scoring because age is a factor used to determine the effectiveness of a person in a field of work. The best age range for immigrants who wish to work in Canada is 18-30 years; the people within this age range usually get the complete score on the grading.
  • Skill: An individual who has learned a special trade skill has a higher chance in the CRS scoring; a person’s skill is considered; because the type of work available in Canada usually fits people with trade skills.
  • Language proficiency: The Express Entry considers how good an immigrant is in English and French language, not necessarily the two languages; one will be okay, but if you’re good with the two, it’s an added advantage. They have a tool they use to check this language proficiency; it will be shown to you later.
  • Level of education: The certificates you acquire will help you gain more scores in the Express Entry assessment; they’ll consider your level of education; of course, you won’t expect someone with a Ph.D. to have the same score as someone with Bs.C.

These are some factors considered while applying for a Canadian visa, though there are many other things to consider; we’ll show them to you in the table below with the score allocated to each of them.
