Engr Chinedum Orji Emerge As Abia State Speaker

The prompt past Majority Leader of Abia State House of Assembly and a PDP administrator, speaking to Umuahia Central state supporters, Engr Chinedum Orji – first child of the previous Governor of Abia state, Senator T.A.Orji – has developed the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly.

He was chosen by the 24-part House through a voice vote as the previous Speaker, Mr Chikwendu Kalu, who demonstrated enthusiasm for the position prior was not named.

The new speaker was assigned by Hon Munachim Alozie (PDP, Ugwunagbo), and was favored by Hon Ginger Onwuasoibe (PDP Isiala Ngwa North) before loud praise affirmed him as speaker.

The House in a similar vein chose Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu (PDP Ohafia) as the Deputy Speaker as Hon Solomon Akpulonu (PDP Obingwa East) was chosen as Majority Leader.

Others are Hon Paul Taribo, (PDP Deputy Majority Leader), Hon Abraham Oba (APGA, Aba Central) and Chukwudi Chijioke (APC, Bende North).

Hon Munachim Alozie (PDP, Ugwunagbo) was declared as the Chief Whip, while Hon Chukwudi Apugo (PDP, Umuahia East) rose as the Deputy Chief Whip.

In his discourse after his race as Speaker, he guaranteed to lead an energetic and result-situated Assembly, including that it would likewise give a sound and solid oversight works that lead to the quickened improvement of the state.

"This seventh House will give exceptionally solid and solid oversight capacities meaning that the period of resisting laws and goals gone by the Abia House of Assembly is finished; correspondingly, the time of non usage of the orders and dreams of the official headed by our senator, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, is currently finished," he said.

He accordingly cautioned open office holders in the state to sit up, focusing on that "fitting authorization will be dispensed to any authority of government found not helping the representative to actualise his dreams for Abia State.
