The Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, on Thursday responded to the emergency encompassing the formation of new Kano Emirates.
There had been responses towards the choice of the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje introducing four top of the line Emirate Councils in the state which decreases the impact of the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Muhammadu Sanusi.
The Governor of Borno State while talking on the advancement expressed that there is nothing unique in the decentralization of Kano Emirate.
Shettima expressed this when he was visited at the Borno Government House by the House of Representatives Committee on the Army.
"The proprietor of Tesla was looking at flying Roadsters; while the topical issue in Nigeria currently is the Balkanization of Kano Emirate into five emirates, that is the topical issue; that is what is disturbing us as a people, a relic from an earlier time. What is so extraordinary about the Emir for the good of God?" Shettima inquired.
He further expressed that in a couple of years time, 70% of Nigerians would live in the North.
"Northern Nigeria is dependably in the news for the wrong reason when there are increasingly significant issues that everybody ought to be stressed over."
