The Imo State Governor has begun with the trace of the third confirmed case of the COVID-19, who has recently come back from kano state.
This information is confirmed by the release signed by the state's commissioner for Health, Dr Damaris Osunkwo and was made available to newsmen in Owerri on Monday.
In his statement, he said the patient, 43, from Ehume in Obowo LGA, is recieving treatment alongside other patient at the isolation center in the state and they are all responding positive to the treatment.
The commissioner also said the blood test of the person close to him has been sent to the laboratory, adding that the ministry is also investigating on other suspected cases.
She urged the Imo residents not to panic but to keep strict compliance with the instruction and regulations for safe living and report any suspected cases.
The third case is a 43 year-old returnee from kano who came back to his hometown in Ehume Obowo recently.
Contacts have been collected from him and is been followed up. Also blood samples has been collected from considered his high exposed of him to people and has already been sent to the laboratory.

"Government is doing everything possible to ensure the safety of all Imo residents," she said.
