The president Muhammadu Buhari has reappointed Benjamin Akubueze as the new Director General(DG) of the Budget Office in the federation. A statment from the Federal Ministry of Finance said Akubueze's tenure, which is to expire June 10, 2020 has been renewed.
The statement said that Akubueze is carrying out reforms in the Budget Office "towards improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Budget Office of the federation.
It was added that Akubueze's tenure which was renewed was inorder for him to institutionalise the achievements for a sustainable improvement in the Budget Office of the Federation.
Akubeze who was first appointed as a Special Adviser Planner (SAP) to the President on Feburary 15th, 2016 and later re-deployed and appointed as DG Budget, June 10th, 2016. His current tenure.
Then he was appointed by the President Buhari to handle the nagging issues in the Budget Office at that time.
The statement which came from the Federal Ministry of Finance read; "President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the renewal of the tenure of Mr Benjamin Akubueze as Director-General (DG) of the Budget Office of the Federation".
The statement was signed by Yunusa Tanko Abudullahi, special assistant on media to the honourable minister of finance, budget and planning, praised Akubueze adding that the budget office was undergoing serious reform under his administration.
